Overview
This policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for ValiqAI paid subscriptions. We want you to be satisfied with the Service. If something is not working for you, please contact us and we will do our best to help.
ValiqAI uses Stripe for payment processing. All billing, invoices, and payment history are managed through Stripe and accessible via your account settings.
Free Tier
The free tier is, well, free. There is nothing to refund. You can use the free tier for as long as you want without any payment. If you want to upgrade to a paid plan for more features and higher limits, you can do so at any time. If you upgrade and later decide to cancel, you will return to the free tier.
Subscription Plans
Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the plan you select). Here is how billing works:
Monthly Plans
- •Billed on the same day each month
- •Payment is charged at the start of each billing period
- •You have access to paid features for the entire billing period
Annual Plans
- •Billed once per year
- •Typically includes a discount compared to monthly billing
- •You have access to paid features for the entire year
How to Cancel
You can cancel your subscription at any time. There are no cancellation fees or penalties. To cancel:
- Go to your organization settings in ValiqAI
- Navigate to the Billing section
- Click "Manage subscription" to open the Stripe customer portal
- Select "Cancel subscription" and follow the prompts
You can also email billing@valiqai.com and we will cancel your subscription for you.
What Happens When You Cancel
When you cancel your subscription:
- •Your access continues: You keep access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. If you cancel on day 10 of a monthly plan, you still have access for the remaining 20 days.
- •No more charges: You will not be charged for the next billing period.
- •Downgrade to free: When your paid period ends, your account reverts to the free tier. Your data is preserved, but you will have reduced scan limits and feature access.
- •Resubscribe anytime: You can upgrade back to a paid plan whenever you want.
Refunds
We evaluate refund requests on a case-by-case basis. Here is our general approach:
When We Typically Issue Refunds
- ✓Service outage: If ValiqAI experiences significant downtime that prevents you from using the Service during a substantial portion of your billing period.
- ✓Billing error: If you were charged incorrectly due to a technical error on our end.
- ✓Duplicate charges: If you were accidentally charged twice for the same period.
- ✓Early request: If you request a refund within 7 days of your first subscription payment and have not used the Service extensively.
When Refunds Are Less Likely
- •Mid-cycle cancellation: We do not provide prorated refunds for the unused portion of a billing period. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
- •Change of plans: If you simply changed your mind about the Service but have been using it, a refund may not be issued.
- •Annual plans after 30 days: For annual subscriptions, refund requests made more than 30 days after payment are generally not approved.
- •Account termination due to policy violation: If your account was terminated for violating our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy, you are not entitled to a refund.
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, email billing@valiqai.com with the following information:
- •Your account email address
- •The date of the charge you are requesting a refund for
- •The reason for your refund request
We aim to respond to refund requests within 3 business days. If approved, refunds are processed through Stripe and typically appear on your statement within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
Upgrading and Downgrading
Upgrading
When you upgrade to a higher plan, the new rate takes effect immediately. You will be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your current billing period, and then the full new rate starting with the next billing cycle.
Downgrading
When you downgrade to a lower plan, the change takes effect at the start of your next billing period. You continue to have access to your current plan's features until then. We do not provide partial refunds for downgrading mid-cycle.
Failed Payments
If your payment fails (for example, if your card expires or there are insufficient funds), here is what happens:
- We will notify you by email that the payment failed.
- Stripe will automatically retry the payment several times over the following days.
- During this time, your access to paid features continues.
- If all retry attempts fail, your account will be downgraded to the free tier.
- You can update your payment method at any time in the Stripe customer portal.
Currency and Taxes
All prices are listed in US dollars (USD). Depending on your location, applicable taxes (such as VAT or sales tax) may be added to your subscription price. The final amount, including any taxes, is shown during checkout before you confirm your payment.
If your bank charges currency conversion fees, those are separate from our charges and are determined by your financial institution.
